Why is 3ABN spending Sabbath afternoon broadcasting time discussing retirement planning with Shelley Quinn and G. Edward Reid??? I just got a whole lesson in wills, legal documents, reverse mortgages, budgeting and social security. What a wonderful topic for the Lord's Day of Rest. Is this one way of proving "non-denominational status?? I guess I don't "get it"... Panther??? Aletheia??? Appletree??? Dona??? Any ideas...anybody???

If they want my money I will need: Copies of Financial Reports for the last 7 years (Non profits and publicly traded companies are supposed to provide them upon request.) and A thorough audit by an independant accounting firm with NO ties to any SDA organization. Should both prove an honest accounting, then I might be inclined to donate...but only if the Sheltons are out of the mix permanently. There are too many other Adventist organizations that are doing the Lord's work to support. So, no worries about the above ever happening. I don't know about that, but in the matter of 3ABN and Danny saying that 3ABN's programming is non-denominational, and that 3ABN has no affiliation with any denomination, the truth can certainly be proven. As Observer stated somewhere, if a person unknowingly tells an untruth, that does not make them a liar. On the other hand, Danny and 3ABN know that their programming is denominational, and that they are affiliated with a denomination. |

(and BTW the rest of the programs were outstanding!) I also wondered, and even asked my Mom "why is this being broadcast on Sabbath?" Like Rosyroi here, I tend to think it was a programming error, (as that is not the normal programming 3ABN broadcasts on the Sabbath.) Unlike snoopy, we got no lessons, we chose not to watch it. Someone) ( or more then one?) here said or implied it was done deliberately to get more money by pleasing the viewers, or some such thing. That theory, I consider as lacking sense. There were "techincal bugs" out there.....
....but back to the topic at hand. This was not an "error" on the broadcasting part. The "ESTATE" folks have come to churches and took over the AY hour to discuss the "giving of your funds/dividends/property at the time of your death. I remember getting some cuttin' stares from some "old folks" for asking as a "youth"..... "Why are yall talking about this now? This is the only hour we have each week. Yall are always fussing at us about how we be talkin' about the wrong stuff on the Sabbis...and look at what yall talkin' about...." My King Pops told me I was actually right and we ended up leaving chach. We went home sang some songs, and ended the Sabbis at home. We then went to Burger King. I remember this day because the "ESTATE" folks then called my Pops later that night to "make an appointment" to talk with him the next day....he declined (we have "property" in the family....) This was not a "broadcasting mistake"......
