Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 1 John 4:1
They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie -- 2 Thessalonians 2
