Today was Sabbath and I am still housebound because of surgeries that were necessary, so I have not been able to go to church.
But for the past 24 hours I have been blessed by HOPE TV ---- many new programs and things of interest that both old and new SDA members would find to be a great blessing. For just a little while this morning I watched 3ABN and saw a lot of reruns, however good or not so good they may have been. But Hope TV has made advances and have been adding new stations and programming headed by Kandus and Brad Thorp which has certainly blessed my Sabbath and I just want to tell all of you to try to install HOPE into your homes, if you do not already have it. I have not heard one word of defense, backbiting or excuses for anything that has been said on HOPE. It was a day of Sabbath Blessings from beginning to end. I am thankful that 3ABN may or may not have been blessings to God's people who really want to hear the truth from whom they believe are honest sincere people. but I would not for the world eliminate HOPE TV and I so much want to encourage all of you to enjoy it as much as possible. They are growing throughout the world and my contributions will certainly be sent to them to help to finish God's work. Hope TV personnel are building this network by good honest work and honest contributions--they speak of no miracles falling into their laps--nor do they speak of dreams and visions from God--only the miracles of God which he gives to help finish the work that we all want to see completed. Amen to that summertime. I have noticed an improvement in thier programing and noticed another differences. No "celebrities." Some good speakers. They have a ways to go. I hope they can replace the old hospital drama series soon. I'm sure it takes time, money and people with media experience and technical expertise to build it up to what it can be. I pray that they get the right people involved who can make sanctified decisions about programing and about who becomes involved in front of the cameras on a regular basis.

Instead of purchasing Christmas gifts for someone else that may not appreciate said gift, we are sending a financial love gift to The HOPE channel and also equal amount to LLBN TV. We are enjoying both channels as both networks are producing very good programming about our Lord Jesus Christ and His love.

It is nice to have these alternatives to 3ABN. -------------------- In His Love, Mercy, and Grace!

NEWS RELEASE Nov. 29, 2006
General Inquiries: Jennifer Stymiest Email: stymiestj@gc.adventist.org Young South Africans to Dialogue with President of World Church Silver Spring, MD, USA…Hope Channel will feature Let’s Talk South Africa live on December 3, 2006, Sunday, with Pastor Jan Paulsen. Pastor Paulsen, president of the Seventh-day Adventist World Church, will visit with young people from seven different regions in Africa, including Angola and Malawi. “Although participants differ in age and embrace a diversity of cultures, backgrounds, education and interests, many of their concerns transcend these boundaries, says Andre Brink, producer for Let’s Talk South Africa. “Pastor Paulsen believes that youth are the future of the church and the program will enable the President to keep in touch with issues faced by the youth.” According to Brink, over 80 percent of church members in the Southern Africa-Indian Ocean region are young. Organizers expect some of the topics discussed will focus on HIV/AIDS, relationships, church politics, as well as the role of women in the Adventist Church. Let’s Talk South Africa is produced by the General Conference Communication Department and directed by the Adventist Media Center in the Southern African-Indian Ocean region of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. And yet there are certain significant issues that transcend lines of nationality and language, and these are what I hope we will focus on during our time together.” Abuse, poverty, health, and leadership are among the issues that are expected to feature in this one-hour dialogue. QUOTE please visit www.hopetv.org. If you happen to be where HOPE is not available but you have broadband access then you find a link to watch HOPE on www.hopetv.org. Even if you are working with something else on your computer, you can leave the HOPE sound on in the background, and then switch back to the picture any time you like to see too. -------------------- "Any fact that needs to be disclosed should be put out now or as quickly as possible, because otherwise the bleeding will not end." Johann, glad to see you back!!
I enjoy Hope very much also but it seems to me that Hope has more "sda-churchy" programing rather than programing that would appeal to the non-sda or the non-Christian. I speak as one who read my way into the SDA church from the Baptist faith, also a Lutheran background. I've often taped 3ABN programs and shared them with my non-SDA family and friends, but I really don't see much on Hope that I could do that with except for the new health programs. I agree that Hope is inproving rapidly and I hope to see more sharing-type programs. |

NEWS RELEASE February 21, 2007
Contact: Viola Hughes Tel: 301.680.6689 Revelations from the Lost Pages of History Silver Spring, MD, USA…The Seventh Day, a five-part documentary series tracing the history of the Sabbath, will premiere on Hope Channel beginning Friday, April 6, 2007. Subtitled Revelations from the Lost Pages of History, the series highlights 2,000 years of conflict over the Christian day of worship. From the revolutionary Sabbath teachings of Jesus to the Sabbath-keeping Taiping Revolution in the 19th century China, from the first Sunday-keeping churches in Rome and Alexandria to the Sabbath-keeping reformers of 15th century Russia, The Seventh Day tells the story of the Sabbath as it has never been told before. Produced by northern California-based LLT Productions, The Seventh Day is hosted by Hal Holbrook and features interviews with over 50 scholars from Catholics, Jewish, Orthodox and Protestant communions. “While Seventh-day Adventist viewers appreciate the historical presentation that confirms their beliefs about the true Sabbath, we have always had the general television audience in mind,” says Jim Wood, writer and associate producer. “The Seventh Day is designed to raise questions in the minds of people who have always taken for granted that Sunday is the biblical Sabbath.” The Seventh Day is based on a concept proposed by James Arrabito, an Adventist artist and lay evangelist who traveled the world for three years tracing evidence of Sabbath keeping. Tragically, in 1990 James and two of his sons were killed in a weather-related plane crash in Alaska. His wife, Pat Arrabito, continued the effort as executive producer. Jeff Wood brought The Seventh Day project to completion as producer/director. Please see following pages for the broadcast schedule.
