No, but thanks for axing. I do have all my grandad's log cabin tools though...including an adz. I was going to build my cabin out of juniper (lovely old 40' old growth weeds...them) but, decided against it. Glad I did. A friend built one and had cutter bees in the natural knot holes everywhere, inside and out. Too bad. It's soooooo beautiful. Imagine a log cabin built from gnarly old driftwood...and the aroma.

Imagine a log cabin built from gnarly old driftwood...and the aroma. http://www.cabinfever4ever.com/Western%20Juniper.htm I went, I saw. I liked it all as soon as I saw running water and electricity without wires hanging everywhere! I didn't see any pipes exposed either. I could probably live OK in a very LARGE one! Know anybody giving one away? -------------------- The greatest want of the world is the want of men-- men who will not be bought or sold, men who in their inmost souls are true and honest, men who do not fear to call sin by its right name, men whose conscience is as true to duty as the needle to the pole, men who will stand for the right though the heavens fall. {Ed 57.3}
But such a character is not the result of accident; it is not due to special favors or endowments of Providence. A noble character is the result of self-discipline, of the subjection of the lower to the higher nature--the surrender of self for the service of love to God and man. {Ed 57.4} |

Here's a little more poetry.
Empires of the Mind In days of unrest when long past the best Of the times of the days of glory, The gods of the past who didn’t last Are trying to tell the story. Olympus is broken, the words have been spoken, The home of bats and owls. Like empires gone, remembered in song, As the lonely jackals howl. The cities like Rome remain a home To those who live long after The shades of the kings who lived those things Are a distant ghostly laughter. Born in a fight to shed their light Great empires have come to be. Dying in wealth that chokes off their health Their pride is all they can see. The petty fight to cast a slight To heal their wounded pride, Makes great ones small as the little grow tall And others run and hide. As Borgias who rose and came so close To launching a line of popes, Through fire and sword, the backstabbing lords Will dash their own grand hopes. In centuries past, what didn’t last Still rounds the wheel of time Though different the names, they are still the same These empires of the mind. |

The following seems most appropriate.
Oh what a tangled web we weave, When first we practise to deceive!

The following seems most appropriate. Oh what a tangled web we weave, When first we practise to deceive! Sir Walter Scott Agreed.... but on the other hand.... what happens with additional practice..... Well... I don't know the name of the wag who added ... or actually claimed that they were part of the original.... the following lines.... but they also seem appropriate..... But he who with diligence applies Will soon be telling foolproof lies. .................................. |
