I will pray that the Holy Spirit will do for Danny what Jesus said the Comforter would do (John 16:8).

Yes, I believe that there is still time to make things right. Great decisions take the least amount of pride. I will pray also.

QUOTE

That night we bowed in prayer and presented his case before the Lord. We entreated that we might know the will of God concerning him. All we desired was that God might be glorified. Would the Lord have us pray for this afflicted man? We left the burden with the Lord and retired to rest. In a dream the case of that man was clearly presented. His course from his childhood up was shown, and that if we should pray, the Lord would not hear us; for he regarded iniquity in his heart. (Child Guidance, 450)

Have you presented his case before the Lord? I'm not sure if this deals with healing only, as was the request for prayer in this instance, or if this would expand to other blessings such as peace, protection, etc. for individuals who may "regard iniquity" in their hearts. The Bible says "There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked." Isaiah 57:21 We surely don't wish to pray against the Bible! However, I suppose it should never be wrong to pray that someone will choose to do right, and that God's will be done in their lives.

Inga and HOTY, thank you for joining me in praying for Danny. I hope others will also.

Green Cochoa, not for physical healing but for spiritual healing. And not necessarily for blessings other than the blessing of salvation and eternal life.

I felt that the Holy Spirit got to Danny through Elder Kelly's sermon. I know it touched me. I will pray for Danny also because there comes a point where there is a final decison to be made. Harden one's heart and hang on to pride or give it up and make public confession. Regardless how much one may think the other person is at fault. Not "I was wrong but he/she did such and such". Not just "we are all sinners". No excuses. This moment comes all of us. Desire of Ages Chapter 71 A Servant of Servants- the paragraph that starts with the words "Before the Passover".

The following scripture is one that I find comfort in and I believe it applies to those who do not, for whatever reason, want to admit to their sins. Pastor Mark Finley spoke on this verse about a year ago and said it showed the power of prayer.

1 John 5:16 If anyone sees his brother commit a sin that does not lead to death, he should pray and God will give him life. I refer to those whose sin does not lead to death.

Danny is not dead. We, as humans, don't know if his heart is hardened so he, IMO, is fair game for this prayer.

Whenever asked to pray I pray....

I did it the minute I read the OP.

thank you, daylily, i've been praying every day since starting to read here in november...
for God to break satan's hold on all who are bound by him at 3abn, and elsewhere...
and to give each one a very strong desire for confession, reformation, restitution, and total surrender to Him...
"make it very hard to kick against those desires!!"

I deleted the post because I was tired and for some reason thought I was in another post and the post was not part of the discussion.
I prayed for Danny also. I uplifted him to God for God's will be done.

I see your requests for prayers and that is wonderful because we all need them. But you are all praying for Danny to repent..yet look at the scripture you quoted. The key word is SEE. That is the problem here. You all didn't SEE what went on behind closed doors of the marriage. You did not SEE any of the allegations made here towards Danny & 3abn. YOu have all made up your minds based on what? I would humbly suggest that the prayer that should be prayed, is Lord, help me to know what is truth. If I have been wrong about the people I have accused, convict my heart. Help me not to judge the things I have not seen nor the things that I have not heard for myself.

WWJD,
No, we didn't see what went on behind closed doors in his marriage; but we did see him publicly slam his wife and Dr. Abrahamsen along with anyone who showed any support or compassion for Linda. Many of us were totally oblivious to what was going on until he began to slam her publicly. In addition, Danny got a "quickie" divorce and seemed not to give counseling or the marriage a chance. Many of us have seen non-chrisitians give their marriage a chance longer than Danny. Danny did not take the high road when dealing with his marriage, that is, the dissolution of his marriage. His has haunted the 3ABN ministry because there are people (who I know) who may not have cared for Linda's style, but were very much opposed to Danny's divorcing her and how it was handled.

My interpretation of Daylily's request was that we should lift Danny up in prayer. My interpretation was not for the sole purpose of REPENTING, but for the purpose of being in the will of God and doing what is right (whatever that may be) for the ministry of God. All of us should repent each day of our sins and shortcomings.

Chez, I respect what you are saying. I also want to paint a hypothetical scenerio for you. IF, ok IF, you had evidence that your wife/husband was having an affair, if he/she lied to you a hundred different times about a hundred different things when they were caught in different situations, if you talked to them until you were blue in the face and they would not give up they were still calling a friendship, if you called your pastor over to counsel with both of you and that didn't work, if you made an appointment with christian counselors elsewhere and spent 8 hours in sessions, if the counselors then said to your wife/husband "you have to give up the 3rd person in this marriage" and your wife/husband blatantly refused, and what if they and the pastor said you cannot repair this marriage as long as they are unwilling to give up this person, and yet another pastor after talking with and praying with came to heard the same words, that they would not give up their "friendship." And what if all the while you were telling your wife/husband we can work it out but this has to stop but your husband/wife refused over and over again. Now even if you thought nothing had happened physically yet, you know there is a big problem because your spouse is willing to give you up, give their job up, and were willing to give up things that they had helped work for, rather than to give up their friendship. So your spouse moves out. You help them move. You go to the home your spouse bought and are told by the seller that your spouse came and picked it out with his/her "friend". But you won't stop trying to reconcile because you love them. So after knowing even you what you know, you do some remodeling, using your own money on your spouse's residence. What if you went in to get a drink and your spouse ask you to step out because he/she was on the phone with their "friend". What if you saw your spouse repeatedly over the next few months and even took them out to dinner while you were remodeling and you told them repeatedly it wasn't too late, but it fell on deaf ears. What if you took your spouse to dinner even on the day the divorce was final and your spouse looked at you and said something to the affect of "you won't still have PI's on me now will you because it is ok now if me and my friend hold hands or go places together because we are now officially divorced. I could paint many additions to this scenerio but I will leave it at this: After your heart is broken, your self respect is crushed and you know you have done all that you can, then the next thing you know, rumors are flying all over that you threw your spouse out, you took their job, treated them like dirt and your spouse was innocent as a lamb. Not only that but you find they are the source of the rumors that get bigger and better everyday and they are doing everything in their power to paint you as the terrible person and they are the victim. Moral of the story. If you did say anything publicly, it was in self defense because of the lies that you had been accused of after you had done everything you knew to do. So, if you did start trying to counteract the falsehoods being told, it might not be the best idea, but then again, you are only human aren't you?

It is hard for me to imagine that we are now being graded on our prayers! How unchristian is that!
