An interesting issue has been brought up in a letter dated August 6, 2007, by Anonymous, just posted on the Save3ABN site.

Labeled "Breech of Fiduciary Responsibility", it is questioned whether the reports of Bob Pickle and Gailon Joy were from the beginning greeted with the same skepticism and unbelief as the Biblical two spies that came back with the other ten from Canaan.

Referring to the possible requirement of "oxygen tents in high places" by embarrassed laity and church leaders caused by the Nick Miller revelation of 3ABN board misconduct, it is posited that there must be incredible temptation and pressure to want to silence the truth to avoid further embarassment.

Have some of them privately supported an unjust lawsuit to protect their reputations?

It is suggested that if it has not come to this point yet, it may will happen soon.

And my comment added: Is this a reason why our church leaders have been so strangely silent about this whole problem?

Actually I don't understand the comparison.

Going by appearances; Joy and Pickle's reports seem to be as widely accepted here, as the other 10 spies reports were by Israel.

In consequence, Israel wandered in the wilderness (of sin) for 40 years.

You mean we shouldn't have protested Danny Shelton being compared to David, Moses, and John the Baptist?

The person who sent the letter posted on Save3ABN was making the point that from the first, many questioned how truthful the reports of Pickle and Joy were--a pretty good comparison, I think.

There is a huge difference between comparing Bob and Gailon to those two faithful investigators of old, two ordinary guys who were willing to do God's will when Moses gave them their marching orders, as opposed to comparing another ordinary man like Danny Shelton with the likes of Moses or King David. Please tell me you see that difference. One comparison is reasonable, the other borders on out and out pretentiousness.

Each of you must answer that for yourselves. I personally never heard or read one person comparing him to any of the above. ( we are only to compare ourselves to Christ and follow his example}I only read and heard the critics and accusers claiming that others had done so, so that so they could condemn biblical examples, and condemn any and all who dared to speak up in Danny Shelton's defense, and claim the example didn't apply.

As far as I am concerned, I agree with the Apostle Paul:

1Cr 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

I think we are supposed to apply principles and situations to all equally, and not say we are not them, or so and so isn't them, and isn't as good, or as bad, so this doesn't apply to us, or them!

Your arguments, from reading your posts in this forum, and others, seem to me to be continuous, and contentious, and then defensive if questioned. I have my opinions too.

Everybody involved in this case has to be very careful in their relationship with the Lord, Bob & Gailon especially. Sometimes being right is more spiritually dangerous than being wrong.

I do find it interesting, Ian, that you're defending 3ABN and yet haven't watched it enough to see on television the comparisons they've made between Danny and the heroes of the Bible.

I watch 3ABN alot,.

Is it possible I see the issues as in situations and how Gods biblical principles and examples apply to myself first and then others, and you focus on the personal and compare people, and see how they apply to others first?

The beauty about a forum such as this is that anyone can post just exactly what they think on any given issue. In my experience I have found that many of us, me included, are quite passionate about our opinions. While it is important to temper those with Christian love and respect for each other, if we all thought and spoke the same it might be awfully beige here.

I apologize if you felt my post was too strong and was an affront to you. You are most welcome to be you and to have your own thoughts and opinions.
