I am curious. We have had a serious influx of new members who are interested in 3ABN but "seem" to have little interest in actually socializing with the rest of BlackSDA as a family in Christ.
True, where you post is your business, but it begs the question... do we really have any interest in fellowship, discussion or seeking to share ones with the rest of your BlackSDA family? Is this what we can expect in heaven? -------------------- WELCOME to BlackSDA from seraph|m, a BSDA Charter member.

True, where you post is your business, but it begs the question... do we really have any interest in fellowship, discussion or seeking to share ones with the rest of your BlackSDA family? Is this what we can expect in heaven? As I have some as-yet unrevealed connections to 3ABN, I found BSDA on the internet because of the discussion of 3ABN. However, I have made posts since then to other topics, with little response. Perhaps it's not just us "newbies" finding the action in the 3ABN forum. ? For example, I have yet to receive any comments on my interpretation of "hell" in the topic of "Hell here and now". (I don't know how to paste in the links to other topics yet.) Actually, I'm happy that I found BSDA, because I'm currently quite isolated and have no adult Sabbath School to attend, and will likely be in this situation for many more months, perhaps years. I am looking forward to participating in some of the Bible discussions here, and I wish to say thank you to all who are supporting these forums and making them open to folks like me. God bless! -------------------- To copyright man's creation is to plagiarize God's gifts.

Fear not, GC a lot of folks are not online over the weekend and especially Saturday nights. (I don't know how to paste in the links to other topics yet.) Just to go the page that contains the link and copy the address and either just paste it directly to your post or use the Insert Link option at the top of the "reply" box. It's nice to know some folk are wading into other parts of the BSDA pool. Since I have not been on of late I'll have to check those topics out. We have a regular Sabbath School lesson study on Friday nights here in "Live Chat" which I facilitate, more often than not. Awesumtenor leads out with help from laryfromgary and calvin. You are more than welcome to join us. The class usually slows down a bit over the summer, due to folks going on vacation etc... but we should be getting into full swing again pretty soon. Please stop by. You'll see the details in my signature btw -------------------- WELCOME to BlackSDA from seraph|m, a BSDA Charter member.

Since you brought up the topic, what are those as-yet unrevealed connections to 3ABN? I assume that if you were not willing to share this information you would have remained silent in regard to it. I mentioned that only to clarify how I found this forum, and to help seraph|m see that my interest in the 3ABN topic was not merely that of a bystander. However, so far I have not yet felt free to speak openly. I'm sure all will agree that the topic is quite sensitive, with both moral and legal ramifications of anything said. I am trying to determine who to trust, and I may wish in the future to contact someone privately. (I think that is possible, right?) Please do not ask more, as I feel I must be plenty cautious given the situation.

Is this what we can expect in heaven? A group of us had this very conversation in LC several days ago. Yes, it is certainly true that the exploding topic of 3ABN has brought additional members to BSDA who, in my opinion, would not have ordinarily joined this forum. If these members are honest, they would not disagree with me. While it is true that a member can post wherever he or she chooses to, it would be so nice if other topics and discussions were considered worthy of their input. BSDA has an international membership and we can only benefit from the various, and cultrally disverse views and opinions of each other. And while the Forum is called "Black SDA," the topics are not restricted or limited to input of Black members. All members are encouraged to participate in any topic or discussion in this forum. I have been a member since April and it's like I've never left. I have learned so much and benefitted from the thoughts and ideas of the membership. You won't agree with everything or everyone...but you will be challenged to think, and the arcade is always available to provide the much welcomed relief... I find this forum to be alive in non-3abn related topics aswell as in the chatroom. Unfortunately I havent been able to attend as much lately for computer-technical reasons. (Cant figure out how to properly uppdate Debian...)

Green, I guess the reason I have these problems is I am trying something new. Tried Fedora last time and there the graphics worked while update was a pain. This time graphics dont work and only the updates needed to be done outside of X are a pain. Would have tried Mandriva if its start CD would acctually start on my computer... Will try to remember Ubuntu next time I try something new on the linux computer.
Clay, Thank you. Likely will be around unless something radically changes in my life circumbstances. -------------------- Christ crucified for our sins, Christ risen from the dead, Christ ascended on high, is the science of salvation that we are to learn and to teach. {8T 287.2}

You won't agree with everything or everyone...but you will be challenged to think, and the arcade is always available to provide the much welcomed relief... I was a member way back when BSDA was an email list, and only dropped out then because it got too engrossing, and I simply couldn't keep up with that and other things in my life. And like Carribean, when I "came back" it was like I had never been away. Though admittedly, I came this time because BSDA had opened its arms to the 3abn topics, and have seldom ventured out of this area. However, that is not a matter of considering other areas either un"worthy" or unattractive. Quite the contrary. It is a simple matter of time and amount of "brain-span" available. And since I am sadly neglecting my responsibilities in a number of areas of life, the more time that passes the more urgent it is that I get back to those. So I doubt if I will be venturing out into other areas of BSDA any time soon, certainly not before 2007 (when the "Christmas rush" is over). But I do very much appreciate the "family" atmosphere here and hope that sometime in the future I'll be able to spend more time in both the lighter areas and in the more profound ones. In the meantime, thank you once more to Calvin and all his crew, not only for providing a wide open forum where all can come to discuss 3ABN matters, but also for the wide variety of forums they provide, and the way they manage to keep everything running smoothly..... most of the time..... and find ways to smooth out the "bumps" when they do occur. Blessings on each and every one of you. |

Okay I'll be honest...I came here because the topic of 3ABN was open here and I've been waiting to hear how Linda was vindicated. I'm not here because I want to stand and gawk at 3ABN's failures--but I do want to see how the Lord works everything out.
To be honest, I have checked out the other forums--and have been in LC a few times--but like with some friendships, if there's not a whole lot in common the friendship is more 'distant' if you will. Since I am not an SDA there are discussions that I simply cannot identify with--things I have no idea what are being talked about and that gets overwhelming to me. You may wonder why I should take such an interest in 3ABN while not being an Adventist...well, when we used to get 3ABN Linda really ministered to me on her front porch. She had a heart connection with Jesus and that appealed greatly to me. When I found out that she was let go--and the subsequent divorce--it hurt me deeply. Ever since then, I have wanted to see how the Lord was going to work this out--because I knew that Linda was innocent. The experieces she had on 3ABN are unfortunately close to some in my own life. I was never vindicated--no one came to aid my cause even though it was widely known. I have a burning desire to help, where I can, those who are victimized but are silenced through no fault of their own. I have written letters, passed on information, and have been doing what I can to help. So that is primarily why I'm here. I don't 'do' message boards really--just don't have the time nor the desire.
