A friend sent me the following.

It sounds real good until it starts talking about trying to find the enemy within. My guess is that that's HOTY.

Satan's attack? Web of lies?

Prayer Requests February 21

Special Request

God has impressed 3ABN’s administrative staff that we need to call for a day of fasting and prayer to seek His face. This special season of prayer has been scheduled for:

Thursday, February 22, 2007, 9:30am—4:30pm

Ten department heads will be gathering together at the Thompsonville Church to fast and pray during those hours—an Upper Room experience, if you will. 3ABN’s Board of Directors, and leaders of several other ministries will be joining us in spirit in this effort.

We will alternate between group and individual prayer time for those seven hours. Our prayer focus will begin with repentance, consecration and a desire for united hearts (specifically to be one in spirit with the Lord, operating by the mind of Christ). We will be praying for the Holy Spirit to fall upon us as He did on the day of Pentecost. Our goal is to seek God’s guidance—asking Him to outline our plan of defense against Satan’s attack, praying for Him to root out the enemy from within (giving them a change of heart and possibility of restoration), asking for ministry direction, praying for funds, and asking God’s protection over the spiritual babes He has brought into the fold through 3ABN’s ministry (that their faith will not be destroyed, and they will not be snared by the web of lies Satan is weaving).

Pray the Lord to cause us to hear His still, small voice, making clear His will for the direction we should take, as King Jehoshaphat did in 2 Chronicles, chapter 20, when—surrounded by his enemies (that God did not permit him to destroy)—he proclaimed a fast in all Judah, and assembled the people for prayer. We will look to the Lord for all the answers, and trust He will provide the plan for victory!

I can clearly see a trick. But I'll be praying for the Lord's voice to be heard by those people fasting and praying. May the Holy Spirit touch their hearts. And may the people not be deceived by spiritual traps.

This specifically says that it will include 10 department heads. Does that eliminate Danny, Mollie or others or are we to assume they are there "in spirit"?

It doesn't sound voluntary either does it? What pressure to put these people under. I too will be interested in knowing if the bigwigs will be fasting with the troops.

To be one in spirit with the Lord....or one in spirit with Danny and the Shelton Gang?

The "possibility for restoration?". Is that what Jesus would do, say that He would possibly restore? Sad, these people are truly a hot mess. nonono.gif

BTW, it actually soulds like a trap... btjm

There must be some among them who are honest at heart. May the Lord hear their prayers.

From the SDA BiBle Commentary, Vol. 4:

Isa 58:1-4 Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and show my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins. (2) Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God: they ask of me the ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching to God. (3) Wherefore have we fasted, say they, and thou seest not? wherefore have we afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast ye find pleasure, and exact all your labors. (4) Behold, ye fast for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye shall not fast as ye do this day, to make your voice to be heard on high.

The house of Jacob, at the time this warning was given to Isaiah, appeared to be a very zealous people, seeking God daily, and delighting to know His ways; but in reality they were filled with presumptuous self-confidence. They were not walking in the truth. Goodness, mercy, and love were not practiced. While presenting an appearance of sorrow for their sins, they were cherishing pride and avarice. At the very time when they were showing such outward humiliation, they would exact hard labor from those under them or in their employ. They placed a high estimate on all the good that they had done, but a very low estimate on the services of others. They despised and oppressed the poor. And their fasting only gave them a higher opinion of their own goodness. {4BC 1149.8}
There are sins of this same character among us today, and they bring the rebuke of God upon His church. Wherever such sins are found, seasons of fasting and prayer are indeed necessary; but they must be accompanied with sincere repentance and decided reformation. Without such contrition of soul, these seasons only increase the guilt of the wrong-doer. The Lord has specified the fast He has chosen, the one He will accept. It is that which bears fruit to His glory, in repentance, in devotion, in true piety. {4BC 1150.1}

Isa 58:6-7 Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? (7) Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?

In the fast that God has chosen, mercy, tenderness, and compassion will be exercised. Avarice will be put away, and fraud and oppression will be repented of and renounced. All the authority and influence will be used to help the poor and oppressed. If this were the condition of the world, it would no more be a proverb, "Truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter;" "he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey" (RH Oct. 13, 1891)

Let he who hath ears, hear...

In His service,
Mr. J

It seems our mission during those hours is clear as well. I would like to suggest that we set aside that time to join together in written prayers and fasting (to those who are able and so inclined) - no discussion or debate, just prayers that we can post, read together and ask the Holy Spirit to carry to our Father.

We know the issues. We know that there are truth seekers among the employees at 3abn that need protection. We know there are victims that need restitution and healing. We know that some in the ministry of 3abn need to set pride aside and truly repent so that the health of the ministry can be restored.

If no one else starts the topic tomorrow morning, I will do so.

Prayer is powerful!

I think it's a good idea and wish them only the best experience. If I may, I'd like to suggest a few things that may benefit their mission to "root out the enemy within":

1. Drink plenty of water.
2. Balance the time spent in prayer with time spent in reasonable and fair discussion. Depth perception can only be acquired when both the eye of faith and the eye of reason are fully functioning together.
3. While praying for the Holy Spirit, expect the presence of Jesus as EGW says of the early diciples--they sensed the presence of the one who had left them.
4. After receiving the gift of the spirit, use this test to make sure it's the spirit of Jesus--and not his counterfeit: Acts 2:44 "And all that believed were together and had all things in common."
5. While holding all things in common, let no one withhold confidential information, but fully disclose all in truth to one another. Let everyone examine all legal documnets of each other, and every evidence held in secret by one another.
6. At the end of the session, do not eat a late meal as the benefits of fasting may be interrupted.

I agree and am joining the plan. I think the Lord will be pleased if we do it. I'm unsure of the time, mine is "GMT minus 1". Which one is the fasting and prayer, regarding to GMT, anybody knows?

Blessings!

Mr. J,

Thank you so much for this group of statements! As the 3abn department heads meet in prayer tomorrow, I hope they have this counsel before them.

I am often in prayer about my participation on this forum, seeking God in order to make certain I am doing His will. As I read Isaiah 58:6-7 it struck me and affirmed for me that this is what our mission is here on the 3abn Forum!
