Larry Romrell is the newest board member of 3ABN, as noted in the witness list filed by plaintiffs Danny Shelton and 3ABN in the US District Court (see page "Larry Romrell" on the Save3ABN website).

In a 1992 Congressional Report by Senators John Kerry and Hank Brown, the financial entity known as BCCI, a Pakistani bank, was said to perpetrate "...fraud by BCCI and BCCI customers involving billlions of dollars; money laundering in Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Americas;...support of terrorism, arms trafficking,...management of prostitution;...and a panoply of financial crimes limited only by the imagination of its officers and customers."

The report goes on to explain that Larry Romrell, with three other Americans, acted as frontmen for BCCI with Capcom, a London and Chicago based comodities futures firm which operated between 1984 and 1988 and was created by former BCCI treasurer Ziauddin Ali Akbar, with investments mainly controlled by Sheik Khalil. According one example in the report, "...the series of transactions involving Noriega, BCCI, and Capcom provide an illustration of textbook money laundering".

Capcom was indicted; Larry Romrell, Chairman of Capcom, was not indicted.

The 3ABN board apparently has no problem with this guy's background. That should tell us all we need to know about whether the board is in Danny's back pocket or not.

It may simply have been an issue of pointing out that the 3abn folks might want to do a better job of avoiding the "appearance of evil".

In light of the fact that the 3abn leadership claims to be above board in all they do, since they are serving the Lord, makes their seeming willingness to use anyone who may have some kind of wealth/influence or both, regardless of their possible ties to inappropriate activity, speaks volumes to many.

Non the less it is newsworthy in relationship to 3ABN and raises concerns about the character of this man and his fitness to serve on the board of a Christian organization

In light of the fact that the 3abn leadership claims to be above board in all they do, since they are serving the Lord, makes their seeming willingness to use anyone who may have some kind of wealth/influence or both, regardless of their possible ties to inappropriate activity, speaks volumes to many.

Joy has no room to throw that particular stone though given his past troubles of being accused of embezzlement.... there are so many other areas to address at 3abn IMO as opposed to going at a person who was not convicted of a crime....

The BBCI story makes for some compelling reading. there are a number of books that were written on the subject, and there are also the congressional reports. It includes elements of drug runners, gun runners, nuclear secrets, terrorists, spies, money laundering, financial scams, financing for terrorist training in South America, good guys, bad guys... in the end it is hard to believe something like that could happen anywhere but in the movies, yet it seems that not many people know that it ever took place.

I bet it does, but is it safe to paint everyone with that brush.... that would be like saying that everyone who ever worked at 3abn was as unscrupulous as Danny.... would that be fair?

I am with Steve, here. I think there is enough mud to go around on both sides, especially with GJ and Bob's recent move with that email/letter. Everyone is operating on the "whatever means necessary' level by now. Also, GJ, while, involoved ina truly noble cause at this point, is really throwing stones from a glass house on this one.

However, that being said, truth is very telling about "associations" within a perceived christian organization/Ministry(as convenient and/or necesaary). It suggests that Danny was equally or more into building a business under the cover of "ministry".

While I agree that this is another case where Gailon has put more on the public record than should be there at this time.... I think it would be the better part of wisdom on everyone's part to take a long walk through google land before making too many comments here... and once you have done that, maybe you will agree that maybe the less said on this the better... for now.
