Due to the publication of Mr. Joy's letter in BSDA, I will comment two of the people mentioned:

Larry Romrell:

In the past valid questions have been raised in regard to his apppointment to the 3-ABN Board. I am one of those who has asked some of those questions. When I asked them, I had not formed an opinon in regard to them. I have now decided what I believe to be fact, and I have reached an opinion:

Mr. Romrell is a baptized member of the organized SDA Chruch. He may be conservative. But, that is not a bar in my mind to him being a member of the 3-ABN Board. I consider his SDA membership to be appropriate, and I do not consider him to be a member of a group in opposition to the organized SDA Chruch.

In summary: I support Mr. Romrell in his accession to the Board of 3-ABN. The decision to place him on that Board was carefully made by 3-ABN, and I am not going to second guess them on that selection.

I encourage others to do the same. Let us celebrate that he is a baptized SDA, and pray that God will use him as a member of the 3-ABN Board.

Jim Gilley:

Every person has strengths and weaknesses. I beleve that the same may be said for Elder Gilley.

As to what he may be able to accomplish as President of 3-ABN: That is pure speculation, even if it has a partial basis on a knowledge of his skills and weaknesses.

I prefer to give him a "clean slate," and wait to see what he can accomplish.

For those who expect him to accomplish changes, that is not going to happen overnight. That will clearly take time. I will suggest that we recognize that and not unfairly criticize him for not accomplishing 100 per-cent of your goals in his first 24-hours. Give him several months to establish himself, and to begin to demonstrate the direction that he will take 3-ABN. I will suggest that we owe him that. Pray for him if you wish. After 12 months it should be clearly established the direction he will go, and we will have a better picture of his abilities.

I, too, would be interested in knowing which half you believe to be inaccurate.

It is important since I have been a donor of the 3ABN broadcasting network in the past, and I wish to use my money wisely and efficiently.

I would also like to know which 3 board members are being replaced, if any, and what you think the new board members bring to the boardroom table of this public broadcaster, in addition to what Observer has just posted.

And, how is it that Adventist Today -- the magazine -- is not mentioned in Gailon Joy's e-mail along with the bloggers? Could it be because Linda Shelton is not thought to be associated with Adventist Today, and therefore, there is no impetus to sue the publication? Just wondering and speculating as to the possible reason for ATtoday's lack of mention.

If you could fill in those of us who have been 3ABN donors, that would be helpful, Panther.

Observer, you make some very valid statements. I pray that this is the way it goes for the good of 3ABN.

Imagine what could happen if these people were, to twist a phrase, "sheep in wolves' clothing" who have managed to convince Danny that they are just his puppets, only to turn around and jerk the rug out from under him. Wouldn't that be a hoot and a half?



Oh, and Danny....if you decide to come after me, I admit that I would be like David against Goliath. Considering the outcome of that battle, you may want to rethink the idea of coming after any of us.

I am afraid that the mission of the new team is not so much to clean things up as to regain or to retain the confidence of supporters and ex supporters in 3ABN's integrity. A ministry may be successfull in the eyes of the world, prospering and winning over public opinion and at the same time hiding things that in God's eyes still need to be fixed. I am not so pragmatic as some here thinking that sin can be glossed over and covered up so easily, even in order to spare the reputation of the church.

3ABN has done a very good job of getting viewers to accept the SDA culture and customs and of overcoming prejudice against Adventism. Or rather they air the programs of those who do these things. But they have caused many people, both long time members and new interests, to distrust the official church. These have been led to feel that the church has become worldly and fallen in comparison to 3ABN. Has it or is it the reverse?

My nephew and his wife joined the church because of Doug Batchelor. Disillusioned by what they found in their local church, they soon left. They have been in effect "vaccinated" against the gospel. If they hear what has been happening at 3ABN and if they hear that the SDA church knew about it and covered it up, they will surely feel that neither 3ABN nor the SDA church practice what they preach. Their fate will be sealed and they will probably never come back.

I am not so pragmatic as some here thinking that sin can be glossed over and covered up so easily, even in order to spare the reputation of the church.

3ABN has done a very good job of getting viewers to accept the SDA culture and customs and of overcoming prejudice against Adventism. Or rather they air the programs of those who do these things. But they have caused many people, both long time members and new interests, to distrust the official church. These have been led to feel that the church has become worldly and fallen in comparison to 3ABN. Has it or is it the reverse?

My nephew and his wife joined the church because of Doug Batchelor. Disillusioned by what they found in their local church, they soon left. They have been in effect "vaccinated" against the gospel. If they hear what has been happening at 3ABN and if they hear that the SDA church knew about it and covered it up, they will surely feel that neither 3ABN nor the SDA church practice what they preach. Their fate will be sealed and they will probably never come back.

I agree with you here, lurker, because I see it happening right before my eyes! Jim Gilley's message to everyone here through "Dallas" was loud and clear that the new president does not intend to involve himself with past problems even though he "feels sorry for the pain on all sides" or something to that effect.

Doug Batchelor's laudatory comments to the (new) 3ABN this evening on his "Here We Stand" series serves to strengthen this impression.

I don't believe for a moment, that Joy hates Danny. That's your word against his. God does not hate us either, although He may hate some of the things we do.

This should tell anyone who is awake a few things. And I don't believe half of what Joy posted here as the real truth. It also looks like Joy has made himself the next Prophet of the SDA Church.

I don't believe that Joy is delusional enough to think that he is any prophet. I doubt that his pride is BIG ENOUGH to elevate himself to being a self-appointed prophet? Leave that to DS.

Danny Shelton is clearly still in charge of 3ABN... This new president stuff is only a facade...

We need to step up our drive to oust this guy...

When you get the opportunity, let the people you know that are in our SDA churches that Danny Shelton & 3ABN is not worthy of receiving donations... His unBiblical divorce & quick remarriage shows us how he believes he is exempt from Biblical counsel...

As is normal for Dannyites, you attack the messenger, not the message. However you do add credibility to Joy and Pickle by do so, so all is not lost in your post.

attacking the BSDA and Maritime bloggers

slightly and nit picking... I object to the word bloggers. I was under the understanding that BSDA and Maritime were forums... NOT blog sites. Correct me if I am wrong.

the only site I know about that is a blog site is the one that attacks Galion: savegalion.com which I notice is not included in the list that Danny promised to agressively attack. There are many other websites that are blogs and forums and other names that are dicussing the activities of 3ABN.

I am aware other posters in 3ABN forum are also using the word blog. Seems like it starts with what Danny calls these sites and others pick it up and carry it through.
