QUOTE(Fran @ Jan 31 2007, 11:45 PM) So, he is blind in one eye and can't see out of the other? I'm kind of blind in one eye and sometimes can't see out of the other one either. Mine is a choice issue, I choose what my good eye sees. Let me rephrase...I believe he is "legally blind" in one eye. Whatever the vision standard is for that, he's below it. -------------------- "The pure and simple truth is rarely pure and never simple."

I hear what you are sayimg, HOTY! Sounds right to me. He seems to function quite well, no matter what, as long as he stays "below" legal! -------------------- The greatest want of the world is the want of men-- men who will not be bought or sold, men who in their inmost souls are true and honest, men who do not fear to call sin by its right name, men whose conscience is as true to duty as the needle to the pole, men who will stand for the right though the heavens fall. {Ed 57.3}
But such a character is not the result of accident; it is not due to special favors or endowments of Providence. A noble character is the result of self-discipline, of the subjection of the lower to the higher nature--the surrender of self for the service of love to God and man. {Ed 57.4} |

Just FYI, the legal definition for legal blindness varies from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. Mr. Shelton may have no vision at all in one eye but would still not be considered "legally blind" unless his other eye could not be corrected to better than 20/200 or better than that but with reduced visual fields. So he would be blind in that eye but not "legally blind". nw This post has been edited by Noahswife: Feb 3 2007, 12:05 AM -------------------- “I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.” C.S. So according to the book he has a glass eye.
