Woof, you keep forgetting, Linda has not and cannot say a word, it is Danny, the 3ABN board, and a host of supporter who have put this business on blast. Linda has been quiet, it is not has been anything but quiet. After silencing Linda, he should have kept his own mouth shut.

Now for the rest of your post. Firstly, you might want to go to our archives and do some research. You didn't tell us anything we didn't know......two years ago. That is their story, and they have been pretty good about sticking to it. Knowing that this dicussion took place amongst those who had that prior knowledge, and reject it as truth. Now believe what you will.

The only thing missing from this sordid mess is the kool-aid....

The more stuff that is leaked from various first hand witnesses (hint hint Woof), the more I understand why Mr. Shelton was not interested in doing the christian thing, he had to keep Linda quiet......

A saying I heard, seems to fit here..... "If you got skeletons in your closet, you better teach them to dance....." It appears that Mr. Shelton has a walk-in closet full of bones...

I'm sorry, but Danny has been spending the poast two years playing the victim to the so called "spritual adultery", do you really think he would pass up the chance to be the jilted, cheated on husband? i think not. Remember this is the man whoa,long with his 3ABN board made everyone who had a show with Linda on it, come back and retape....immediately! This is the man who "enoucraged" Linda to sign and gag agreement promising her far less than she was owned for her part of the ministry.. Also, didnt' we just see a recent letter from the COB at 3ABN still maintaining that Linda had another man? They were already trying to accuse her of some form of adultery, publically, everytime he set foot in somebody's church, and any other opportunity they got. Believe me, if he could have , he would have.
Just one more thing.....this is not already a scandal?

Oh it is scandalous for sure. However, as often happens within religious/closed communities, people hesitate to make them public thinking the harm it might do to the "greater good". The person(s) doing wrong often depend on this. Fact it needs[needed] to be dealt with in the beginning, but there was no accountability.

have you not been reading these 1st hand accounts? Let me ask, to you a scandal would be what? I mean reports of financial misconduct, sexual misconduct, manipulation, money going to family members, money earmarked for other charities never getting there, at what point does all of that become a "scandal?"

Kool Aid... hmmm When Jim Jones moved to Guyana, his spin machine in San Francisco went into full motion. People who were coming out and trying to expose the horrors that had been, and were taking place under Jones were viciously maligned. People who had signed documentation while under duress in the compound were said to be pathalogical liars as their words didn't match the content of those documents. People even signed custody of their children over to him and he held that up as proof that he was worthy, and they were not.

Jones was viewed as a hero of the people because of his many humanitarian efforts. He was friends with mayors, governors, members of congress, and was beloved by then president Jimmy Carter. When reporters came to the Jonestown compound all they saw was a beautiful town springing up in middle of the jungle, and peopled by a happy population who were lavish in their praise of Jones, their kind and benevolent founder and president. He also had a world-class basketball team in Georgetown.

People on the outside who wanted to see this rosy picture had sources on the inside who happily fed them what they wanted to hear. Former cult members who were all saying the same thing were pounced on as "disgruntled former employees with an axe to grind." A man who was doing so much good, was loved by so many people, and was believed by so many highly placed dignitaries couldn't be wrong, and even if there were a few questionable thing, hey, he was just human.

In the end, around nine hundred people volluntarily drank the Kool Aid and died for Jones. The people who could have stopped this travesty chose not to listen to the story coming from the "disgruntled former employees with an axe to grind." They liked the rosy picture coming from the Jones spin machine, and from their inside sources, and they stuck with it to the bitter end.

It has not interrupted the programming or financial scheduling of 3ABN...that was my point...When Jim Bakker and Jimmy Swaggart had their say...and even Henry Wright, it stopped their ministry for a season and credibility...that has not been the case here...
